Body

The 86 looks the way it does for a reason — it's ultra-low CoG (centre of gravity). Having a centre-point just 420mm off the ground spells Fun, with a capital 'F'. It has ground clearance of 120-130mm, with a low stance that reduces overall body roll and provides sharper vehicle response to driver commands. The 86 literally does what you tell it to.

The 86's steering wheel has a diameter of just 365mm - the smallest ever made by Toyota. Thumb rests and optimised grip thickness contribute to the 86's increased steering precision. Audio controls and other devices have been removed, ensuring your mind stays focused exactly where it should be - on the next bend in the road.

Every detail in the 86's purpose built cockpit has been carefully considered to enhance driver performance. That means the minimum of distractions. No large screen audio or unwieldy computer screens. Just driving perfection.

Safety

The 86 comes with 7 airbags, including a driver's knee-bag, as well as sports 'bucket' style seats with aggressive bolsters for excellent support whilst cornering. Even the kiddies aren't left out with two ISOFIX child seat fixing points to make sure they don’t miss out on any of the fun. Front seat-belt pre-tensioners provide added protection, whilst VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) with Sports mode, Traction Control (TRC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electric Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist (BA) inspire confidence during spirited driving.
